The course presents the key documents that represent the economic and financial performance of an enterprise explaining the theoretical approach and providing examples of use especially with reference to the Automotive field It shows the different calculations of the cost of a product and the links between costs and incomes of the products and the P&L of the Company It also presents key business processes of planning and controlling and shows the economic and financial consequences of the events that occur in the daily work of the various business areas The main objectives of the course are to develop the understanding of economic and financial documents and the capacity to analyse the most important cost factors
Capacità di leggere un bilancio d'impresa industriale e di comprendere articoli su argomenti economico / finanziari di riviste e giornali specializzati Capacità di comprendere le conseguenze economiche e finanziarie delle azioni e delle decisioni che si prendono nell'attività quotidiana in ogni settore dell'attività aziendale Capacità di concorrere alla preparazione dei piani aziendali, di partecipare all'analisi degli scostamenti dai piani stessi ed alla definizione e al controllo dell'esecuzione delle azioni correttive
Through lectures and exercises based on real cases, the students will develop knowledge about reading the financial statements of an industrial company and understanding newspaper articles about financial topics as well as understanding the economic and financial consequences of the actions that take place and the decisions made in the daily work of each sector of business. The students will acquire kills in contributing to the preparation of business plans, the analysis of deviations from the plans, the definition and control of corrective actions.

Il programma delle lezioni si articolerà in tre parti: Economia d'Impresa, Pianificazione e Controllo, Costo del prodotto Alla prima parte, Economia d'Impresa, saranno dedicate 12 ore In questa parte sarà introdotto il concetto di Impresa e saranno presentati il Conto Economico e lo Stato Patrimoniale in due forme: una utilizzata nella redazione dei bilanci e l'altra per la gestione dell'impresa. Sarà data particolare enfasi alla gestione finanziaria ed al concetto di flussi di cassa e saranno introdotti i principali indicatori delle prestazioni economico / finanziarie dell'Impresa ed il concetto di creazione del valore Alla seconda parte, Pianificazione e Controllo, saranno dedicate 18 ore La seconda parte si aprirà con cenni sulla pianificazione di medio e lungo termine e proseguirà con lo sviluppo del processo di Budget e del Controllo di Gestione, di cui si presenteranno finalità e tecniche di controllo, comprendenti l'analisi degli scostamenti e la definizione dei piani d'azione per il loro recupero. Proseguirà con l'introduzione del concetto di costi rilevanti per le decisioni e si concluderà con lo studio degli investimenti: concetti di base, processo di pianificazione e calcoli di redditività. Questa parte si concluderà con la presentazione delle tecniche di Cost Deployment per il miglioramento continuo dell'efficienza e della qualità dei processi produttivi Alla terza parte, Costo del Prodotto, saranno dedicate 12 h Questa terza ed ultima parte si aprirà col concetto di costo unitario di prodotto, che sarà approfondito nei due casi, di costo del prodotto in fase di concezione e sviluppo, con accenno al metodo di Target Costing, e di costo del prodotto in fase di produzione di serie, con l'introduzione dei concetti di costi diretti e costi ribaltati, dei metodi di ribaltamento e dei costi standard Il corso si concluderà con l'analisi degli impatti sul conto economico delle inefficienze logistico / produttive
The plan of the lectures is composed of 3 parts: Company Economics, Cost of a Product, Planning and Controlling To the first part, Company Economics, we will dedicate 20 hours In this part we will introduce the notion of Enterprise and we will present the Profit & Loss and the Balance Sheet in the format used for Statutory Statements and for Controlling purposes, as well as Cash-Flows, Financial Indicators and Value Creation. To the second part, Cost of a Product, we will dedicate 15 hours This part will present the notion of Cost of a Product in both, Development and On-going phases, including the basics of Target Costing, Cost Allocation and Standard Costs The third part, Planning and Controlling, will last 25 hours It will contain the basics of Long Term Plans, Business Plans, Budgets and Budgetary Control, including the Variances Analysis and the methods to define and follow-up the Action Plans to recover discrepancies. It will also include the study of the Investments and of the Cost Deployment techniques for the continuous improvement of efficiency and quality in manufacturing processes It will end with an overview of the industrial indicators.
Le esercitazioni saranno svolte di preferenza in laboratorio di informatica. Ogni allevo disporrà di un file Excel contenente il tema da sviluppare ed uno schema da completare attraverso l'applicazione dei concetti appresi nel corso delle lezioni. Le esercitazioni riguarderanno i temi dell'elaborazione di conto economico, stato patrimoniale, rendiconto finanziario e calcoli di redditività, dell'elaborazione di un budget, l'analisi degli scostamenti fra consuntivi e budget e si concluderanno con un business case riguardante la valutazione di un investimento

Saranno messi a disposizione degli studenti, attraverso il portale della didattica, il materiale presentato nel corso delle lezioni ed i files Excel con lo svolgimento completo dei temi proposti nelle esercitazioni

The evaluation will be based on the result of a written test with exercises, open or closed questions on the course contents, in accordance with a previously assigned score for each one. The maximum mark of the written test will be 26/30. Students who pass the written test can improve their result on oral examination on a voluntary basis. The outcome of the hearing may result in an improvement, a confirmation or a worsening of the mark of the written test.
In addition to the message sent by the online system, students with disabilities or Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) are invited to directly inform the professor in charge of the course about the special arrangements for the exam that have been agreed with the Special Needs Unit. The professor has to be informed at least one week before the beginning of the examination session in order to provide students with the most suitable arrangements for each specific type of exam.
