This course aims at providing students with an overview of techniques and tools for information visualization and visual analytics. In particular, during the course, a framework for the identification of principles that guide information visualization and the development of interactive visual interfaces to facilitate analytical reasoning, will be presented. The course presents concepts, techniques and tools to design effective user interfaces to synthesize information and derive insights from data. Applications of visual analytics in data science and machine learning will also be discussed.
