This course delves into the structural and kinetic theories that define glass structure, transformation range, and vitrification conditions. We'll explore various inorganic glass systems, focusing on their stability and crystallization tendencies. We'll also examine the relationships between the composition, properties, and structure of glass-forming systems alongside rheological (e.g., viscosity, characteristic points) and thermal properties. Additionally, the course offers a comprehensive overview of specific glass and glass ceramics, their properties, and development strategies for their integration in specific energy conversion devices, including glass-to-metal seals in solid oxide cells, proton-conducting membranes, and all-solid-state Li-batteries.
