L’insegnamento di Analisi Matematica I costituisce la cerniera tra la scuola media superiore e l’università. Lo scopo principale dell’insegnamento è di abituare gli studenti a seguire la concatenazione di semplici argomentazioni e di insegnare loro gli elementi fondamentali del calcolo differenziale e integrale per le funzioni di una variabile, con applicazioni alle equazioni differenziali ordinarie del primo e del secondo ordine.
This course represents a bridge between high school and university. The main goal of the course is to provide the students with tools to follow the concatenation of simple logical arguments, and to introduce the fundamentals of differential and integral calculus for functions of one variable, with applications to ordinary differential equations of the first and the second order.

Numerical sets, equations and inequalities, analytic geometry and trigonometry. Elementary functions and their basic properties.
Richiami: insiemi, operazioni sugli insiemi e simboli logici. Insiemi numerici, massimi e minimi, estremi. Proprietà di completezza dei numeri reali e sue conseguenze. Funzioni: iniettività e suriettività; funzioni composte e inverse. Funzioni reali di variabile reale: funzioni elementari, monotonia e inverse delle funzioni elementari. (Circa 15 ore) Limiti e continuità: Limiti di funzioni e successioni; continuità. Teoremi sui limiti: unicità del limite, permanenza del segno e limitatezza locale, teoremi di confronto. Limiti di funzioni monotone. Algebra dei limiti. Forme indeterminate. Confronto locale di funzioni. Simboli di Landau. Infiniti e infinitesimi. Ordine di infinito e di infinitesimo, parte principale rispetto a un campione. Asintoti. Il numero e. Limiti notevoli trigonometrici ed esponenziali. Funzioni continue su un intervallo: esistenza degli zeri e dei massimi e minimi. (Circa 24 ore) Derivate: significato geometrico e fisico. Regole di derivazione. Derivate delle funzioni elementari. Derivate e continuità. Punti di non derivabilità, punti di estremo e punti critici. Teorema di Fermat. Funzioni derivabili su intervalli e teoremi fondamentali del calcolo differenziale (Rolle e Lagrange) e loro conseguenze. Regola di de L'Hôpital. Formula di Taylor e sviluppi di Maclaurin fondamentali. Uso degli sviluppi di Taylor nello studio del comportamento locale delle funzioni: confronto di funzioni, estremi, convessità. Applicazioni allo studio del grafico di funzioni. (Circa 23 ore) Primitive e regole di calcolo delle primitive; primitive di funzioni razionali. Integrale definito. Proprietà dell’integrale. Media integrale, teorema della media e Teorema Fondamentale del Calcolo Integrale. Relazione tra primitive e integrazione definita. Integrali impropri: definizioni e criteri di convergenza. (Circa 21 ore) Numeri complessi ed equazioni differenziali: forma algebrica, forma trigonometrica ed esponenziale dei numeri complessi. Parte reale, parte immaginaria, modulo e argomento. Radici dei numeri complessi. Teorema Fondamentale dell'Algebra. Esponenziale di un numero complesso e formule di Eulero. Equazioni differenziali: il problema di Cauchy. Equazioni differenziali del primo ordine, lineari e a variabili separabili. Equazioni differenziali lineari del secondo ordine a coefficienti costanti. (Circa 17 ore)

Functions: surjectivity and injectivity; composition of functions, inverse functions. Functions of one real variable: elementary functions, monotone functions and inverse functions. (About 15 hours) Limits and continuity: limits of functions and sequences; continuity. Theorems on limits: uniqueness of the limit, sign-preserving property and local boundedness, comparison theorems. Limits of monotone functions. Algebra of limits. Indeterminate forms. Local comparison of functions. Landau symbols. Infinite and infinitesimal functions. Order of an infinity and of an infinitesimal, principal part with respect to a test function. Asymptotes. The number e. Fundamental trigonometric and exponential limits. Functions continuous over an interval: existence of zeros and of maxima and minima. (About 24 hours) Derivatives: geometrical and physical meaning. Computation of derivatives. Derivatives of elementary functions. Derivatives and continuity. Non-differentiability points, extremal and critical points. Fermat Theorem. Functions differentiable over an interval and fundamental theorems of differential calculus (Rolle and Lagrange) and their consequences. De L'Hôpital rule. Taylor formula and fundamental Maclaurin expansions. Use of Taylor expansions in the local analysis of functions: comparison, extrema and convexity. Applications to the study of the graph of a function. (About 23 hours) Primitives and their computation; primitives of rational functions. Definite integral. Properties of the integral. Integral mean, the mean value theorem and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. Relations between definite integrals and primitives. Improper integrals: definitions and convergence tests. (About 21 hours) Complex numbers and differential equations: algebraic, trigonometric and exponential form of a complex number. Real and imaginary part, modulus and argument. Roots of complex numbers; the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra. The exponential of a complex number and the Euler formula. Ordinary differential equations: the Cauchy problem. First order ordinary differential equations, linear or with separable variables. Second order linear differential equations with constant coefficients. (About 17 hours)
L’insegnamento consta di 60 ore di lezione e 40 ore di esercitazione. Le lezioni sono dedicate alla presentazione degli argomenti del programma dell'insegnamento con definizioni, teoremi, esempi, proprietà e le dimostrazioni ritenute utili per una migliore comprensione degli argomenti e per fornire gli strumenti necessari per sviluppare capacità di ragionamento logico-deduttivo da parte dello studente. Ogni argomento teorico trattato nelle lezioni viene arricchito da esempi introduttivi. Le ore di esercitazione sono finalizzate ad acquisire una adeguata manualità di calcolo.
The course consists of 60 hours of lectures and 40 hours of exercise classes. Theoretical lessons are devoted to the presentation of the topics, with definitions, theorems, examples, properties and the proofs which are believed to facilitate the learning process. Every theoretical aspect is associated with introductory examples. The exercise hours aim to gain an adequate ability in computation.

... Verranno monitorate attività in itinere quali, ad esempio, lo svolgimento di test di autovalutazione e di esercizi durante l’intera durata del semestre. L’esame è volto ad accertare la conoscenza teorica degli argomenti elencati nel programma del corso, nonché la capacità di applicare la teoria stessa allo svolgimento di esercizi. Esso consiste in un test con risposte a scelta multipla, seguito da una prova scritta di tipo tradizionale. A queste due prove può eventualmente seguire una prova orale. Il voto finale dell’esame, espresso in trentesimi, viene determinato tenendo conto dei punteggi conseguiti nelle attività in itinere, nel test, nella prova scritta, nonché dell’esito della prova orale, nel caso questa venga effettuata. ATTIVITA’ IN ITINERE. Le attività richiedono la partecipazione attiva dello studente durante il semestre. Saranno dettagliate da ogni docente e richiedono, ad esempio, la risposta a test di autovalutazione, la risoluzione di esercizi da consegnare secondo modalità e scadenze rese note all’inizio del corso. Il punteggio massimo è pari a 3. TEST. Il test, della durata di 45 minuti è svolto al calcolatore in appositi laboratori o aule eventualmente con sistema di proctoring (LockDownBrowser), consiste in 15 domande a risposta multipla, con quesiti (anche di tipo teorico) che coprono l’intero programma. La consultazione di libri o altro materiale non è consentita, così come l’utilizzo di qualsivoglia dispositivo elettronico non esplicitamente autorizzato. Verrà messo a disposizione un formulario. Ogni risposta esatta vale un punto, una risposta errata oppure non data vale zero punti, e il punteggio massimo è quindi pari a 15. Se il punteggio è inferiore a 8, la prova è considerata insufficiente e l’esame viene registrato come “respinto”. Se invece il punteggio è pari a 8 o superiore, l’esame prosegue e lo studente viene ammesso alla prova scritta. PROVA SCRITTA. La prova scritta, della durata di 90 minuti e durante la quale non è consentito l’uso di libri o altro materiale, così come l’utilizzo di qualsivoglia dispositivo elettronico non esplicitamente autorizzato, consiste tipicamente nello svolgimento di due esercizi aventi vari sottopunti. Verrà messo a disposizione un formulario. Questa prova permette di conseguire un punteggio massimo pari a 15 punti. Se il punteggio è inferiore a 8, la prova è considerata insufficiente e l’esame viene registrato come “respinto”. Se invece il punteggio è pari a 8 o superiore, il voto finale dell’esame è dato dalla somma dei punteggi conseguiti nelle attività in itinere, nel test e nella prova scritta, a meno che venga richiesta, da parte del docente (o dello studente, qualora il voto complessivo sia almeno 18/30), una prova orale. Solo per la sessione invernale di esami, l'esito positivo al test in occasione del primo appello dà anche accesso all'esame scritto del secondo appello (in particolare, questo si applica in caso di esito insufficiente o di rifiuto del voto nel primo appello). PROVA ORALE. L’eventuale prova orale è prevalentemente rivolta ad accertare ulteriormente la conoscenza della teoria appresa nel corso, e costituisce un ulteriore elemento di valutazione. Nel caso in cui venga effettuata anche questa prova, il voto finale dell’esame sarà stabilito tenendo conto sia dei punteggi già conseguiti nelle altre prove, sia dell’esito della prova orale.
Gli studenti e le studentesse con disabilità o con Disturbi Specifici di Apprendimento (DSA), oltre alla segnalazione tramite procedura informatizzata, sono invitati a comunicare anche direttamente al/la docente titolare dell'insegnamento, con un preavviso non inferiore ad una settimana dall'avvio della sessione d'esame, gli strumenti compensativi concordati con l'Unità Special Needs, al fine di permettere al/la docente la declinazione più idonea in riferimento alla specifica tipologia di esame.
Exam: Computer lab-based test; Written test; Optional oral exam;
The main purpose of the exam is to ascertain both the theoretical knowledge of the subject and the ability to apply theory to the solution of exercises. It consists of a multiple-choice test and a written exam, possibly followed by an oral exam. The final mark is determined by the scores of the test and the written exam and, if the oral exam takes place, its result is also taken into account. TEST. This part of the exam, which lasts one hour and takes place in a computer lab, consists of 20 multiple-choice queries, including theoretical questions and covering all the syllabus. Books or other teaching material cannot be consulted. Each question is worth one point, and the maximum achievable score is 20. If the score is less than 12 then the exam is failed, otherwise the student proceeds with the written exam. WRITTEN EXAM. This part lasts 75 minute, and typically consists of two exercises. Of these, the former is the study of a function, while the latter is devoted to some more specific part of the syllabus and may include theoretical questions. Books or other teaching material cannot be consulted. The maximum achievable score is 13. If the score is less than 5 then the exam is failed, otherwise the final score of the exam is obtained as the sum of the scores of the test and the written part, unless an oral examination is required by the teacher (or by the student, provided that the final score is at least 18). ORAL EXAM. This part of the exam, which can be requested by the teacher or by the student as described above, mainly aims at ascertaining the theoretical knowledge of the subject, and is a further element of appraisal. In case this part of the exam takes place, its result will contribute (together with the scores of the test and the written exam) to the final exam score.
In addition to the message sent by the online system, students with disabilities or Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) are invited to directly inform the professor in charge of the course about the special arrangements for the exam that have been agreed with the Special Needs Unit. The professor has to be informed at least one week before the beginning of the examination session in order to provide students with the most suitable arrangements for each specific type of exam.
