Il corso offre una riflessione sulla teoria critica e sul suo rapporto con la ricerca e il pensiero architettonico. Trae origine dal lavoro del Prof. Trisciuoglio e del Prof. Boano e dalle loro attuali ricerche. In particolare, si basa principalmente sulle opere di Clare Colebrook, Giorgio Agamben e altri pensatori e teorici critici per sostenere la necessità, in qualsiasi critica dell'Antropocene, di "ripensare il nostro rapporto con le cose". Se l'architettura è una cosa, quale forma assumerà tale ripensamento? E cosa succederebbe se tale ripensamento richiedesse una modalità politica destituente?
Il corso si articola attorno a quattro oggetti diversi e, in ogni sessione, invita i partecipanti a impegnarsi in seminari critici attraverso letture selezionate tratte da diverse transizioni e latitudini epistemiche. I quattro oggetti sono: scialuppe di salvataggio, tende, guerra, foresta. In ogni sessione, verrà proposta una costellazione di letture e gli studenti si confronteranno in discussioni con i docenti.
The course offers a reflection on critical theory and its relations with architectural research and thinking. It stems from the work of Prof. Trisciuoglio and Prof. Boano and their current research. Specifically, it draws mainly on the works of Clare Colebrook, Giorgio Agamben and other critical thinkers and theorists to argue for the necessity, in any critique of the Anthropocene, to “rethink our relationship with things”. If architecture is a thing, what form will such rethinking take? And what if such rethinking requires a destituent mode of politics?
The course takes four different objects and, in each session, invites participants to engage in critical seminars through selected readings drawn from different transitions and epistemic latitudes. The four objects are: Lifeboats, Tents, War, Forest. In each session, a constellation of readings will be offered and students will engage in discussion with tutors.
