Objectives of the course
This course studies the main electronic circuits normally encountered in telecommunication systems. On the analog side, these include oscillators, mixers, narrow-band amplifiers, PLLs and A/D/A converters. On the digital side, the course provides basic knowledge on programmable devices.
Basic Circuit Theory, Electronic Systems, Electronic Devices.
 Amplifiers and high frequency circuits (narrow-band amplifiers, frequency multipliers, mixers).
 Active filters and switched capacitors filters.
 Phase Lock Loops.
 Analog to digital and digital to analog conversion. Data acquisition systems.
 VHDL as synthesis tool for simple combinatorial and sequential logic (adders, counters, FSMs).
 Field Programmable Logic devices.
Laboratories and/or exercises
six lab sessions during which the students will design, develop and test small analog and digital circuits. Students must complete a design report following each session.
