Objectives of the course
This course aims to present students the instruments they can use to distinguish and evaluate economical aspects of goods, focusing on civil buildings. Besides microeconomy is studied, focusing on consumers, producers and on the main markets' features. In order to make students conscious of some specific estimation methods. Statistics and probability calculus are also studied.
Expected skills
Skills in recognising the economical aspects required to solve estimation problems in buildings field. Skills in using financial calculus for the evaluation and the management of new building; rehabilitation of historical buildings.
Fundamentals of economy

Economic assets and wealth. Division of work and exchange. Market: supply and demand. Competition and equilibrium. Imperfect market. Theory of consumers choice.
Common assets, pure public assets, mixed assets. Externalities. Supply and demand of public assets. Imperfect market and public intervention, etc.

Fundamentals of financial mathematics for assessable value.

Fundamentals of assessable value.

Assessable value of private heritage: postulates and method. Market value, cost, rendering. Assesment mono- and polyparametric processes. Economic profits.
