Objectives of the course
The course teaches software engineering (meant as 'programming in the large') tools and methods.
Main focus is on management of software projects, verification and validation, and quality assurance.
' Software process reference models: Iso 9000, Vision2000, CMM-I, Iso 12207
' Software processes: waterfall, spiral, RAD, JAD, XP, Component based, reuse.
' Software project management
' Techniques: WBS, Gantt, Pert, milestones, deliverables.
' Activities: estimation, planning, tracking, post mortem.
' Verification and validation, software quality assurance
' Roles and activities
' Activities: test white and black box, unit, integration, system test; techniques and tools.
' Activities: inspections, walkthrough, reviews, reading
' Configuration management
' Identification of components
' version control, change management, configuration control
' support tools
