Objectives of the course
Basics of metrology and uncertainty estimation.
Principle and use of analogue and digital instrumentation for the measurement of electrical quantities (dc and ac voltage, dc and ac current, resistance).
Indirect measuring technique for electrical quantities.
Overview of data-acquisition systems based on PC-board.


Physics, basic circuit theory, statistic.
- International organization of metrology and International System of units (SI)
- Measuring methods and uncertainty estimation (deterministic and probabilistic models)
- Analogue instrumentation: electromechanical and electronic instruments; analogue oscilloscopes
- Reciprocal counters
- Analogue-to-Digital Converters (ADC): metrological issues.
- Block scheme of digital instruments and analysis of their metrological performance.
- Data acquisition board overview

Laboratories and/or exercises
the course include laboratory experiments, which are intended to employ instruments and implement measuring techniques described during the lessons
