Objectives of the course
The course provides the basic concepts of electromagnetics, mainly through the study of distributed parameter circuits. To introduce the concept of propagation modes, multiconductor transmission lines are introduced.

' Transmission lines: Line equations and their solutions. Smith chart. Impedance matching. Scattering matrix. Lossy lines. Transients.

Measurement of scattering parameters of microwave components by a network analyzer.
