Objectives of the course
Industrial property is becoming more and more an important, and frequently vital, business asset, which can be bought or sold, licensed or traded. The aim of this course is to summarize the ways in which a patent, trademark or copyright portfolio can be created and managed to enhance its relevant value.
Syllabus
This module is mainly devoted to the analysis and management of the most important instruments (Patents, first of all, Designs, Trade Marks and Copyright) of industrial property.

 Patenting vs Trade Secrets.
 Italian Patent Law and International Conventions.
 Software related inventions.
 Industrial Designs and Brands.
 Patent Searches and Litigation
 Directions for maximizing the value of industrial property (conducting an industrial property audit, selling and licensing, merchandising, franchising, etc.).
