Objectives of the course
Become acquainted with some of the most important classes of antennas for professional wireless communications, both terrestrial and spatial, and with their impact on communication systems; experience some analysis and design techniques through practical examples.

1. Review of basics:
Antenna parameters; radiation of electric and magnetic currents
2. Resonant and/or compact antennas:
Dipole and derived antennas; slot and patch antenna; overview of basic limits and technologies for compact antennas
3. Reflector antennas:
basics; design of prime-focus and/or Cassegrain reflectors; horn feeds; review of commonly employed reflector antennas
4. Arrays:
1-D phased arrays, uniform and not; simple 2-D (planar) arrays
5. Special Topic: focus on a specific antenna technology.
