Essentials on lighting models, transformations, linear algebra, photometry. Principal component analysis.
Producing images. Sensors: CCD, CMOS. Cameras and colour cameras.
Camera models and calibration.
2D digital image transforms. 2D DFT. Point spread function.
Image restoration, deconvolution. The Wiener filter.
Image enhancements. Histogram processing. Spatial filtering: smoothing, unsharp masking, etc.
Computer vision and its steps.
Feature extraction and image segmentation. Moments, Hugh transform. Edge detection. Fourier descriptors.
Morphology and morphological operators. Medial axis.
Examples of 2D applications (OCR, fingerprints, etc)
3D vision. 3D shape reconstruction techniques. Active techniques. Passive techniques:shape from stereo, shading, focus, contour, texture'.
