Objectives of the course
The main objectives of this course are the analysis and the design of the most recent statistical signal processing tools, that are considered under a theoretical point of view first and, subsequently, investigated under a practical point of view, with computer simulations. The theoretical background serves as a fundamental base to understand the statistical signal processing methods adopted in the main practical engineering applications, such as wireless receivers, to cite an example. All the computer simulation are conducted using MATLAB.
Design of digital filters.
Discrete-time random processes and multi-dimensional random processes.
Fundamentals of Estimation Theory.
Classic and Parametric Power Spectral Density Estimation.
Linear Estimators: Wiener filter and linear prediction.
Adaptive digital filters and Kalman filters.
