Objectives of the course
This course aims at illustrating the basic forms of the information means: audio, video, text, and data. Besides this, the basic mathematical tools will be provided for the comprehension of signal processing.

Prerequisites
Fundamental of mathematical analysis.

Syllabus
Complex numbers, Fundamental of probability theory, Deterministic signal classification, Continuous and discrete signals, Time and frequency representations, Fourier Transform, Spectrum representation, Linear time-invariant systems, Continuous-time signals and LTI systems, Periodic sampling and aliasing, FIR Filters, Frequency response of FIR filters, Discrete Fourier Transform, The z-transform, IIR filters, Random process.
