Objectives of the course
This course is aimed at giving specific design experience for some important classes of antennas, both for terrestrial and space applications. It also emphasizes multi-disciplinary aspects and concerns of antennas as part of a wireless system.
1. Methods for computer-assisted design of antennas;
2. Antennas for space applications: system requirements; selected topics among: high-performance feeds, dual-reflector antennas, multi-beam antennas;
3. Antennas for mobile terminals: system requirements and physical limitations; technology overview, selected design topics.
4. Arrays: synthesis techniques, design of selected beam-forming networks.
5. Broad-band antennas.
