Syllabus
An advanced introduction to core theoretical and methodological issues in communication processes, including the nature of several media languages (narrative, art, music, entertainment, film, television, comics, advertising) and relationship with culture and society.
Topics include also media convergence and cross media development, depending on digital technology evolution, on changes in production systems, on changes in audience cultural hierarchy and taste. Historically significant changes in arts and communication languages will be also investigated, providing insight into some key moments in history when the existing structure of media languages underwent profound shift. The course is designed to provide practical, hands-on experience as well, in order to complement the students' theoretical studies. |
