Obiettivi dell'insegnamento
Fornire un aggiornamento su aspetti innovativi dei servocomandi nelle applicazioni nelle quali sussistono specifici requisiti di sicurezza e di funzionamento in avaria
Programma
Part A: Overview of the critical areas

1) Selection of the actuation technology
(Hydraulic, electric, or pneumatic ?)
2) Critical components of a servocontrol system
- Hydraulic (servovalves, direct drive valves, hydraulic motors, servopumps)
- Electrical (electric motors, power electronics)
- Mechanical (ballscrews, geared rotary actuators, harmonic drives)
- Sensors (position and speed sensors)
- Control electronics (processors, input/output devices)
3) Definition of the system architecture
(How performance, safety, failure behaviour requirements and cost affect the overall architecture of the system). Typical choices to be made:
- which degree of redundancy?
- which type of control: mechanical, electrical + mechanical backup, full electrical?
- how to sum mechanical power outputs (force summing or speed summing?)
- how to monitor critical functions and prevent hazardous conditions.
4) Definition of the system control law
- Optimum control of the hydraulic servos
- Optimum control of the electromechanical servos

- Primary flight controls
- Secondary flight controls
- Trim horizontal stabilizer control
