Subject fundamentals
The course is taught in Italian.

The course aims at analysing the social, cultural and economical policies that characterize the communication systems, trying to individuate and understand the rising and development of new consumer markets.
It will focus also on 'convergence' concept, and its relations with the market system.
Finally, the issues and key concepts of the course will be highlighted and creatively developed through media formats and languages, through a web television laboratory.
Expected learning outcomes
-knowledge of the main rules and processes of media production processes
-knowledge of consumer practices, and their transformation in contemporary landscape
-knowledge of the cultural heritage field: its social, cultural and economic rules
-knowledge of 'convergence' models, and of participatory logics driven by user generated contents
-ability to analyse media processes throughout the epistemic approach of the abovementioned theoretical frameworks
-ability to creatively re-elaborate the issues of the course, using audiovisual codes and formats
-ability to work in group and to use cooperative work tools
Prerequisites / Assumed knowledge
Students are required to have an in depth understanding of social, cultural and media contexts within contemporary society. Students are required to have good skills in audiovisual production, editing and postproduction and in online video publishing models.
The course is composed by lessons (40 hours) and laboratories (40 hours)
The topics of the lessons are:
' introduction and organization: 2 hours
' Communication power - mass self-communication: 10 hours
' Communication power - convergence: 4 hours
' Communication power - digital communication: 4 hours
' Communication power ' citizenship: 4 hours
' Seminar 'Creativity and creative industries' in cooperation with companies involved in this sector: 4 hours
' Seminar 'Technology disruptions and their effects on ICT business' in cooperation with companies involved in this sector: 4 hours
' Presentation, discussion and evaluation of students'works: 4 hours
Laboratory on web tv (40 hours)
Delivery modes
Laboratory's activities (40 hours) will be supported by an online environment dedicated to communication, cooperative work and video sharing and publishing. A specific web tv platform is dedicated to support the activities and to host and disseminate the laboratory's outcomes.

Essays and other texts will be provided during the course.
The texts, chosen among those listed, will be communicated in class by the lecturer of the course.
Assessment and grading criteria
Students will discuss, during the final examination, the project developed during the laboratory and they have to present a report with the description of the theories and the design process related to their work.
