Subject fundamentals
The atelier/workshop closes educational process of the architect in architectural and landscape heritage and connects two disciplines of restoration and economic enhancement in a complex planning, recognized contributions of other disciplines, such as history and virtual heritage. These subjects are included in two-year specialized courses in order to give to student a comprehensible and multi-disciplinary framework in theme of Cultural Heritage and approaches to assets valuation. This is the reason that why in the Restoration and Enhancement atelier/workshop the training program simulates real process with which confront those who, once formed, will operate in this field : the complexity is also given by urban and widespread landscape scale. From knowledge to restoration and to innovation, from enhancement to management and to promotion, this interdisciplinary dimension - that goes beyond traditional tools and techniques of approach to design; influences the methodological value of the project , leading also to reposition the individual disciplinary statutes. Even before that with various disciplines , whose contribution is anyway cultural, epistemological and semantic , the project is realized in the unity of the objectives , procedures, methodologies, issues and cultural contents that qualify it. Knowledge, restoration and enhancement of economic projects (on strategic and tactical levels) are closely related in the preliminaries for indirect sources acquisition and direct investigation , on the field , which lead to a first stage of meta-planning and intuitive synthesis. This first phase has to be re-examined and re-elaborated with in-depth analysis and feedback encouraged especially during seminar discussions, that are central moment of critique unification of interdisciplinary process.
Contents
Topics - in the manner of canonical workshop (communication front classroom exercises with exercise and multidisciplinary laboratory with the aid of computer stations and with opportunities for discussion and revision of the Collegiate also processed in progress) - are as follows:
- Presentation of the case study
- Implications on the theme of Cultural Heritage and on the methods and tools of the discipline of evaluation
- Analysis of questionnaires: the questionnaire in the estimation methods , the different types of questions ( open-ended, closed -ended , ...) and the role of the interviewer
- The methods of evaluation of the resources of Cultural Heritage and the models of choice in the economic valuation of public goods : the tactical phase
-Graphical and statistical models to study cultural consumer behaviour
The monetary methods and the family of the Cost-Benefit Analysis (for comparison with the Cost Analysis Revenues)
Presentation of a case study of ACB and examples of analysis alternative (Cost -Benefit through impacts)
- The ACR ( Cost Analysis Revenues) o Definition of NPV, IRR and discount index
Essay : Comparison between private investment and public investment
Delivery modes
Delevery modes: work groups (3-4 students maximum, except in exceptional cases but identified by the teacher), phased milestone driven and monitored by the teacher with lectures, and testimonials and also through times of scheduled coexistence of professors atelier: the hours provide theoretical moments and moments exercise sessions (15 classroom teaching, testimonies 5 and 30 exercises in the classroom)
In particular, the contents of the final papers will be presented on going (even with indications of specific insights on case studies and individual work groups) with the delivery by the teacher of computer support with the digital model of the table.
