Objectives of the course
The main objectives of this course are the analysis and the design of the most recent statistical signal processing tools, that are considered under a theoretical point of view first and, subsequently, investigated under a practical point of view, with computer simulations. The theoretical background serves as a fundamental base in order to understand the statistical signal processing methods adopted in the main practical engineering applications, such as wireless receivers. All the computer simulations are conducted using MATLAB.

- Design of digital filters.
- Discrete-time random processes and multi-dimensional random processes.
- Fundamentals of Estimation Theory.
- Classic and Parametric Power Spectral Density Estimation.
- Linear Estimators: Wiener filter and linear prediction.
- Adaptive digital filters and Kalman filters.
