Objectives of the course
The aim of the course is to give the basic knowledge of fluid properties and their behavior. The elementary tools to solve some fluid problems are given: computation of forces both in static and dynamic conditions; the analysis of fluid motion through pipelines.

Expected skills
Knowledge of fluid properties.
Computation of hydrostatic and hydrodynamic loads. Design and verification of flow through pipeline systems in steady case condition. 
Prerequisites
Calculus I, Calculus II, Mechanics.

Syllabus
Fluid properties.
Hydrostatics: stress analysis, pressure measurement, hydrostatic load. Fluid kinematics. Basic equations of fluid dynamics. Bernoulli theorem. Real fluid flow equation. Pressured flow. Analysis of pressured flow in steady state case. Analysis of some practical cases related to pipelines. 
Laboratories and/or exercises
All the topics are considered for simple exercises that are carried out by the teacher.

Revisions / Exam
The exam is made by a written part: an exercise, 10 quiz and a question of theory. If the vote of the written part is sufficient, the student is admitted to the oral part.
