Objectives of the course
The course is intending to provide general information on the European Strategies as far as the Scientific Research is concerned, and to illustrate the role of the European Institutions.
Expected skills
The student will be updated on strategies and policies - in the field of innovation and Scientific Research - that are carried out on European level for strengthening the competitiveness of the European industrial and RTD system.
No prerequisites are required.
The module strongly focuses on the European policy in the RTD and Innovation field, making reference to what is actually carried out on a National and Regional level.
The main EC support initiative in the RTD field (RTD Framework Programme) is examined in detail, simulating budget and project proposals.
The final part of the course will give information on the history of the European Union, highlighting the historic steps, the single market, the Economic and monetary union, the euro e the Enlargement.
The role of the European institutions is treated too.
