Objectives of the course
This course gives the students theoretical and practical tools to understand and to study electrical circuits.
Theoretical arguments will be presented together examples and exercises. 
Syllabus
1. Definitions and fundamental laws: voltage, current, power, energy, Kirchhoff laws.
2. Models of ideal twoterminal components: Resistive components, linear and nonlinear resistors, diodes, independent and dependent generators... 3. Fundamental methods of analysis of resistive networks: voltage divider, current divider, principle of superposition, Millmann's, Thevenin's, Norton's theorem. 4. Multiports: operational amplifier, ideal transformer. 5. Analysis of circuits: nodes method and its variations; Tellegen's theorem. Introduction to SPICE simulator. 6. Analysis of first order dynamic circuits. 7. Dynamic generic circuits. Circuit analysis with the help of the Laplace transform. Network functions. Natural frequencies and stability conditions. 8. Dynamic circuit in frequency domain: sinusoidal source in elementary circuits. Phasors and elements of calculus: power, threephase circuits, power factor correction, frequency adapters. 9. Dynamic twoports and their characterization; single and double loaded twoports. 
Laboratories and/or exercises
Exercises consist in solving problems of analysis of electrical circuits, using methods studied during lectures.
PSPICE simulator 
Revisions / Exam
The exam consists of a written test (1h1/2) with 4 exercises that may contain theoretical questions. During the examination books and personal notes are not admitted.
