Subject fundamentals
The object of the course is:
- to make the students sensible about the problems of socio-economic effects and impacts generated by planning policies and instruments; - to develop the students evaluation capacity in the field of economic and financial feasibility of plans and projects; - to provide knowledge of the laws concerning public works. |
Expected learning outcomes
- Ability to analyze urban projects in relation to economics and finance, with reference to local/global markets and to their progressive process towards finance;
- Ability to develop particular attention to the economic implications of the build environment development projects; - Understanding the linkages between: the real estate markets and economic fundamentals; the real estate and financial markets; - Ability to develop appraisal and evaluation skills in the field of territorial phenomena, taking into account the promotion and development processes in the real estate sector (with reference to the rules on public works); - Ability to develop preliminary analysis for the projects economic evaluation, focusing on pre-feasibility and feasibility analysis. |
Prerequisites / Assumed knowledge
No special prerequisite required; however, the course could be easier for students with basic knowledge of economics and statistics
