Obiettivi dell'insegnamento
The objectives of the module is to provide the fundamental modelling and analysis instruments for the study of dynamic systems and the methods of control system design.
Prerequisiti
Modules of Mathematical Analysis I and II, of Geometry, of experimental Physics I and II and the Principles of Electrotechnics
Programma

' The problems of control:
-precision; uncertainties, disturbances;
-direct and feedback compensation;
-structure of cascade control and state feedback.
' Modelliing
-classification of the systems and models;
-modeling of electrical and mechanical systems;
-state variables and input/output models;
' Analysis of system dynamics and stability
-Laplace Transform and Inverse Laplace Transform;
-Computation of system dynamic response;
-Stability of LTI systems: main definition and criteria;
-Bode diagram and frequency response (hints).
' Control design basics
-Introduction of the main requirements of a control system and analysis of performance specifications;
-analysis of design (hints) of simple controllers (e.g., PID, pole-placement).
' Computation and simulations tools
-Introduction to MATLAB and Simulink (hints);
-Analysis and design (hints) of dynamic (control) systems using MATLAB;
-Simulation of dynamic system using MATLAB.
Laboratori e/o esercitazioni
Training in the classroom and laboratory using the Matlab software. Both education and applicative examples will be considered.
