Subject fundamentals
The course provides the basic concepts of analog and digital electronic circuits and power electronics. The main goal is to give the necessary knowledge to understand and analyze complex electronic systems containing power electronic blocks along to their low power electronic circuits for measuring and control.
A key point will be the detailed description of the principal characteristic of active and passive components in power electronics. The principal structures in electric power conversion will be presented in the natural and hard commutation to give a strong basis to easy the design an adoption of such structures in the industrial field. Labs activities will give the student the opportunity to see and apply the main concepts. |
Expected learning outcomes
Performance of the main structures in power electronic, basis on electric power conversion in simple and complex structures. Improved skill in analysis of advantages and drawback in the adoption of different configuration in power electronics both on power and control side.
|
Prerequisites / Assumed knowledge
Basis of electro-technics, physics and electromagnetism quasi-static.
