Objectives of the course
Getting the student acquainted with typical issues in distribution logistics, at the strategic level (e.g., designing the distribution network), at the tactical level (e.g., planning inventories), and at the operational level (e.g., vehicle routing). The course is quantitative, hence perfect knowledge of modeling and solution methods from Statistics and Operations Research is a strict requisite.
From a practical point of view, the course is integrated by two optional parts based on the development of decision support tool in VBA/Excel and on the discussion of business cases.

Forecasting models and dmethods.
Inventory management, with and without demand uncertainty.
Multiechelon inventory systems.
Vehicle routing
