Subject fundamentals
This course provides the competences necessary to design medical software and to manage their use in the clinical practice. This kind of software is fundamental for computerized clinical processes and for telemedicine services. For a successful use of this kind of software, design must take into account the daily processes and the interoperability with the other software.
A correct design increase their acceptability and reduce risks linked to their use. Several of these software are medical device software.
At the end, the student will be able to cooperate with a medical software developing team or to work for an IT or a Clinical Engineering Department.
Expected learning outcomes
The student will learn process modelling, requirements analysis, software testing and documentation, European directive and standard, software management procedures.
Laboratory work includes:
a) Requirements elicitation by means of process modeling
b) Interfaces design with particular attentions to ergonomics and risks
c) Software testing procedures
