Objectives of the course
The objectives of the module is to provide the fundamental modelling and analysis instruments for the study of dynamic systems and the
methods of control system design.
Modules of Mathematical Analysis I and II, of Geometry, of experimental Physics I and II and the Principles of Electrotechnics
' The problems of control:

precision; uncertainties, disturbances;

direct and feedback compensation;

structure of cascade control and state feedback.

' Modelliing

classification of the systems and models;

construction of models of electrical and mechanical systems;

models in variabile states and input/output of the time t and the pulsation complex s;

problems of identification given the answer of the graded systems of the 10 and 20 order.

' Analysis of the dynamics and stability

definition of balance and linear programming;

simulation of non linear systems by means of Matlab;

model anylsis: modes of the first and second order;

definitions and criteria of stability (for linear programming and Routh);

speed solutions;

analysis of frequency (Bode's chart).

' Control elements

analysis of time and frequency specifications;

analysis of industrial type controls (PID), cascade, for the allocation of the Eigen values.
Laboratories and/or exercises
Training in the classroom and workshops using the Matlab software, with regards to both the exercises relative to the topics of the
lessons and to the development of applicative examples.

Exam Procedure

The exam consists of a written exam in the form of multiple choice answers, with the availability of the matlab software.
