Subject fundamentals
Objective of this course is understanding main economic fundamentals and knowing most significant tools necessary for their interpretation.
Main problem concerning individual behaviours and market structures will be presented and studied (microeconomics), as well as the study of the whole economic system will be taken into consideration (macroeconomics). Indeed, aggregated economic variables will be evaluated: production, growth, inflation, unemployment.
Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge of economic micro-macro dictionary
Knowledge of main concepts for interpretation of economic systems
Critical capability of interpreting economic information and phenomena

Presentation and analysis of main models of micro and macro - economics.
FIRST PART: MICROECONOMICS
Demand, supply and market structure
Efficiency and wellbeing of consumer, supplier and market
Particular type of product: public good
Market structures: monopoly
SECOND PART: MACROECONOMICS
The market of production inputs
Measures of National Income and cost-of-living
Labour market and unemployment
Interest rate; monetary system and inflation
Models of economic cycle: neoclassical model; Keynes and the IS-LM model; the theory of real economic cycle

Assessment and grading criteria
Write test in 90 minutes at the longest
The test will be organized into three parts:
- first part: questions with multiple choices. If this part is passed, the whole test will be corrected.
- second part on microeconomics concepts
- third part on macroeconomics concepts
Deeper information on exams will be provided during the course and uploaded on the webpage
