Subject fundamentals
The final essay consists of a paper in which the student describes the activities he carried out during the professional training. The tutor, who will then define with the graduation committee the score to be assigned, evaluates the final essay. How to apply for the final essay and details on its defense are available on the website in the rules of the Biomedical Engineering Degree.
Assessment and grading criteria
The final score is given by the average score of all the exams (without considering the worst 16 CFUs) divided by 30 and multiplied by 110 plus up to 5 further points.

Criteria for determining the additive score (max 5 points):
- up to 3 points for the quality of the written essay
- up to 2 points for the time required for graduating (2 points within the fourth year, - 0,5 point for each subsequent period of 6 months)
- up to 1 point on the discretion of the Committee (number of laude, English language, different activities, ...)

Laude could be assigned on the discretion of the Committee if the score of 110/110 is reached. At least 2/3 of the committee members must agree on granting the Laude.
