The students who intend to follow the Professional Training module (8 credits) must insert a free exam and replace it with the Professional Training only after having found the hosting industry or enterprise.
The replacement occurs at no cost in any period of the academic year upon written request to the Commission for Student Carees Evaluation and to the Responsible of the Professional Training, indicating the data of the hosting industry or enterprise and the contact person there (name, surname, telephone number and e-mail address).
If the student has already passed the free exam, the Professional Training will be activated only in excess with respect to the minimum number of credits needed to obtain the Master degree, remaining within the limit of 130 credits established by Politecnico di Torino.

The learning outcomes refer to the acquisition of knowledge concerning the organization of the work in the industry or enterprise where the Professional Training is carried out. In addition, it is expected that the student improves his/her autonomy of judgement, also stimulated by the decisions on timings and modes of interaction with the personnel, and that the student refines his/her communication skills through the contacts with the persons operating in the work environment.

It is intended that the exams completed by the student at the moment when the Professional Training is started are a sufficient prerequisite.

The contents are specified case by case during the preparation of the official documents needed to activate the Professional Training. The related documents are managed by the Stage&Job office.

In order to carry out the professional training activities, the general rules of the University must be followed, together with the rules established by the College of Electrical Engineering:
(1) The Coordinator of the Professional Training Committee of the College of Electrical Engineering is enabled to approve the formation programme.
(2) The College of Electrical Engineering enables the student to follow the Professional Training activities in the Departments of Politecnico di Torino only inside a student's Team officially in place at Politecnico di Torino. In this case, the reference tutor for the Professional Training has to be different from the reference staff person of the student's Team at Politecnico di Torino.
(3) If the student is already working, the Professional Training activity has to be carried out beyond the working period.
(4) In no case it is possible to assign Professional Training credits on the basis of previous working hours or of working hours in progress.
(5) After no more than ten days from the end of the Professional Training period, the student must bring the Professional Training documents, signed by the appropriate persons, to the Stage&Job Office of Politecnico di Torino.
(6) At the end of the Professional Training period, in addition to the documents indicated by the University, the student must write a three-page report containing the indications on the activity carried out and his/her personal opinions about the usefulness of this activity in his/her formation process.
(7) The Professional Training period must not be used to carry out activities referring to the Master thesis.

The material will be given by the industry or enterprise during the Professional Training.

The Professional Training is passed is all the rules established (indicated below) have been respected. The pass state is ON/OFF, with no numerical grade.
