The professional training is worth 7 Credits, corresponding to 175 hours of work at the host institution.
The professional training is compulsory; it takes place in the second semester of the third year of the Bachelor and allows the student to participate in activities with a high professional content in public and private organizations working in the field of spatial planning and urban design. During the professional training the student is assigned a tutor at the host institution and a teacher of the course that serves as an academic tutor.
The activities carried out during the professional training forms the basis for the choice of the theme to be explored in the final report (prova finale), the academic tutor of the professional training will be therefore, in general, the supervisor of this report.

In order to be able to carry out her/his professional training in the second semester of the third year the student has to meet the following conditions by the end of the first semester:
• have passed the exams of all the Ateliers (except for the one of the third year);
• have to pass no more than 6 exams, including the Atelier of the third year and excluding the optional course expected in the second semester of the 3rd year.
Who will not be able to carry out the professional training in the second semester of the third year, may do so at the beginning of a next teaching period as soon as she/he may demonstrate compliance with the above conditions (in this case, however, the optional course may no longer be excluded from the calculation of the 5 remaining exams to be passed).

Students can decide to carry out their professional training:
a) in a professional office or public institution of their choice (in Piedmont or Italy);
b) in a professional office or public institution among those proposed by the BA responsible professor.
The methods of selection and allocation of professional trainings and bureaucratic steps the student must follow before, during and after the professional training period will be presented by the responsible professor (Prof. Luca Staricco) at the beginning of each academic year to the students who entered the professional training in their teaching programme.
