The educational objectives of the Degree Program are:
- knowledge of the methodological - operational aspects of engineering and management to identify and solve issues related to the management of business processes and technology;
- knowledge of computer science and IT to identify and resolve issues related to a company's IT;
- knowledge of the legal - economic and commercial aspects of an enterprise's activity both locally and internationally;
- ability to analyse, interpret and manage technical, operational, business and trade matters related to companies and their relationship with the global market;
- ability to work independently and collaborate effectively even in international working groups;
- ability to deal with change and hence a strong motivation to stay abreast with a continuous knowledge updating;
- knowledge of two foreign languages and the ability to use them in cultural contexts typical of the program;
- preparation to continue studies in the reference Master's degree (Master of Science in Industrial Production and Technological Innovation Engineering)
The academic program includes:
- a first year, where the basics in mathematics, physics and computer science are combined with courses in national law and economics, together with the linguistic training needed to access the second year courses abroad.
- a second year, where students enrolled at the Politecnico and at partnering Universities, will attend economics, trade and law courses abroad to get a working appreciation of the commercial and legal differences. Students will also increase their understanding of the hosting country's business environment by completing an internship, normally abroad. The year's syllabus also includes optional courses which the student has to select from those offered by the partnering Universities. Some courses are taught in English even in the non English speaking Universities.
- a third year, where students attend courses at the Politecnico di Torino to cover subjects such as technology and industrial management, some of which may be in English.
The program ends with a final exam, which is normally related to the completed internship experience.

Supports accounting, cost analysis and management control activities.

- determination of the business Budget together with the other business functions;
- business cost analysis;
- management control;
- support in the definition of corporate strategies for cost containment.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES:

Administrative offices for accounting and management control in companies, firms and institutions
 
Junior production engineer, sales & marketing officer   JOB ROLES:

Supports commercial services (purchases and sales) and marketing in institutions and companies, particularly for products with high technological content.

SKILLS RELATED TO THE ROLE:

- technical evaluation of the economic purchase and sale offers;
- management of the purchase and sale contracts;
- support in the definition and implementation of marketing techniques.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES:

Sales & marketing offices of manufacturing and service companies
 
Junior production engineer, human resources (HR) support officer   JOB ROLES:

Supports the management of human resources, particularly those operating in production.

SKILLS RELATED TO THE ROLE:

- management and implementation of personnel selection processes;
- identification and implementation of methodologies to assess human resources;
- management of human resource development policies.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES:

Human Resources Management offices of manufacturing and service companies
 
Junior production engineer, quality and environmental control officer   JOB ROLES:

Operates in the Quality and Environment Management Systems area.

SKILLS RELATED TO THE ROLE:

- implementation and management of quality and environmental certification processes according to existing regulations;
- economic analysis of no quality loss impact;
- coordination of activities for the definition of the desired product's quality characteristics with tools such as QFD (Quality Function Deployment);
- management of the activities to improve the quality of products and processes; coordination of the working groups to perform FMEA (failure modes and effects analysis).

- definition and management of control and maintenance plans.

Junior production engineer, production plant designer   JOB ROLES:

Cooperates in the definition of the layout and the internal logistics of production plants and production departments of medium complexity, while assessing the costs.

SKILLS RELATED TO THE ROLE:

- general layout design of an industrial factory, choice of warehouses and means used to move semi-finished products;
- definition of internal logistics;
- assessment of economic choices in defining the layout, the type of warehouses and the materials handling equipment.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES:

Plant Offices of manufacturing companies or service companies.
 
Junior production engineer, plant management officer   JOB ROLES:

Cooperates in the logistics management and in the technical installations of industrial plants, using integrated computer systems, with particular focus on environmental and occupational safety issues.

SKILLS RELATED TO THE ROLE:

- management of the internal logistics of industrial plants;
- management of maintenance plans of the plants and production lines;
- energy, economic and environmental performance assessments of production systems and industrial plants;
- occupational safety management, even with full accountability
