The first year is mostly composed by teaching in the areas of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Sciences, as for any Engineer enrolled for the first year at Politecnico di Torino.The “Elective course” at the first year and the one at the third year can be replaced by the Stage (Tirocinio) of 12 credits at the third year of the program syllabus.
Students interested in the “Stage” (Tirocinio) must not insert in their educational path the “Elective course” at the first year.

The second year develops the basic knowledge of Computer Engineering regarding electrics, electronics, architecture and advanced programming of computing systems, and a completion of the basic training in mathematics and physics.

The third year is focused on the specific contents of Computer Engineering, integrated with aspects of electronics, telecommunications, and automation. Special attention is given to real applications, and to a more in-depth study of computing systems, focusing in particular on the theoretical and practical aspects of the design of operating systems, databases, advanced software applications, and computer networks.
Teaching activities delivered by Collegio Universitario di Torino Renato Einaudi, can be inserted in the educational path by presenting a proper claim to the admission office. The “Final project” consists in writing a technical-scientific text including topics of the course "Computer Networks"
During the third year each student can follow a stage.
Students, which do not have in their educational path the “Elective courses” of the first and at the third year, can make this choice by inserting in their educational path the “Stage” of 12 credits.
Students, which have in their educational path the “Elective course” of the first year, can make this choice by inserting in their educational path the “Stage” of 10 credits (of which 6 within the mandatory 180 credits and 4 beyond this limit).

Courses are activated upon the achievement of the minimum threshold of 30 students if they entered the course for the first time in their Annual Personal Study Plan (APSP). The maximum threshold admitted for this course is 150 students, with the exception of particular cases as indicated in the notes. In case such threshold is exceeded, places will be allocated according to a ranking list. Students who included the course in their plan of study but who are excluded by the allocation, will be contacted to modify their plan of study.
Such obligation usually does not apply to courses indicated as 'mutuati' (aggregated to other existing courses).
