This is an innovative Master Degree in Communications and Computer Networks Engineering, merging the best of Communications and Computer Networks worlds.
The MSc program is completely given in English and will allow the students to “live” their didactical experience in a international class including students from all over the world. It offers many possibilities to travel for joint or double degrees in other foreign Universities. More information about these international programs is given every year at the end of the first semester.
The courses integrate the theoretical aspects through exercises in laboratories on communications and computer network equipments, with particular attention to the Internet, Web applications (e-commerce, distributed programming), mobile communication systems (3G, 4G, 5G), and wireless networks (WiFi). The courses have a great emphasis on the industrial world, through seminars held by staff working in industries and ICT companies, with lot of opportunities to carry out the thesis at the companies.
In particular, the first year offers an in depth view of topics in communications, networking, signal processing and multimedia.
The second year is focused on different aspects of Information Technology. Students can choose among courses dealing with wireless and optical communications, network planning and simulation, complex systems analysis, electronics, security and mobile applications. Courses emphasize aspects related to system implementation, design and detailed analysis, and several include measurement laboratories.
The teachers and professors involved are some of the most active in the world of scientific research. By participating in several funded research and industrial projects, the students are involved in research activities during the preparation of their thesis. As evidence, many students publish in journals and international conferences the main results obtained in their thesis.
