Description The problem of water resources sees the gradual impoverishment of fresh water resources and their contamination due to civil and industrial pollution. This thesis work fits into this context by trying to propose new solutions to make contaminated water usable again, in particular from industrial waste. In collaboration with the research groups of Prof. Simelys Hernandez, expert in sono- and photo-catalysis techniques, and the group of Prof. Valentina Cauda, expert in the preparation of semiconductor nanoparticles responsive to sunlight, UV and ultrasound, the thesis aims to validate a system for the degradation of water contaminants and evaluate the kinetics and effectiveness of the treatment. The thesis is experimental and will take place in the DISAT laboratories at the Polytechnic.
