Description The thesis student will work on a project related to energy communities, which are aggregations of users who live together energy produced from renewable sources. In particular, the thesis will focus on small energy communities in condominiums, where the generation of electricity mainly comes from photovoltaic systems possibly supported by electrochemical energy storage systems (lithium batteries). The student's objective is twofold:
1-Create a platform accessible via browser, in which the user follows a wizard to select the input of the simulation, such as the characteristics of the energy community (number of users, number of photovoltaic generation and / or storage systems and their technical characteristics). This platform must be user-friendly to support any type of stakeholder in the process of realization/simulation of the energy community. The software will be connected to a database to be able to save data and case studies, so you can save the work and continue in a new session.
2-Write the code that:
- will calculate the energy flows produced (by photovoltaics), stored (in batteries), exchanged between different users and exchanged with the grid
- will calculate the financial flows and related economic returns for the different users participating in the energy community
- will show a report with information both at a detailed level and in a simplified way for non-technical stakeholders.
The platform will be created within the Politecnico website and it will be made available to the public in a manner to be defined.
