Description In latest years, mobile applications have become more and more popular due to the spread of smartphones. Like all engineering systems, mobile apps have to be tested to ensure that they work as intended. One of the most promising techniques for mobile application testing is the Capture and Replay (CR) method, which consists of recording the users interaction with the application under test in order to generate a test case which could later be repeated. The
ultimate goal of this thesis is to realise an efficient CR system which could serve as basis for the development of a more complex testing solution.
Thesis objectives
Analyse the existing solutions for CR within the world of mobile application testing.
Compare the effectiveness and efficiency of an Android-emulator-based and an Appiumdriver-based CR system.
Develop an efficient CR system for testing mobile applications.
Required skills Basic knowledge of the Android operating system
