Descrizione Cardiovascular diseases like carotid artery stenosis pose significant health risks worldwide, requiring timely and precise diagnosis. While effective, traditional diagnostic methods are resource-intensive and unsuitable for widespread screening and long-term monitoring.
This thesis proposes the design and development of a portable auscultation system for detecting carotid artery stenosis. The device will integrate advanced acoustic analysis through MEMS microphones or piezoelectric sensors, leveraging modern DSP algorithms implemented on an STM32 microcontroller. The system will capture and analyze heart sounds and arterial bruits, providing a low-cost, non-invasive alternative to traditional diagnostic tools. The final goal is to create a wearable device that enhances early diagnosis, offering significant potential for point-of-care applications.
