Description The thesis is set within the context of the energy transition of local public transportation, when both the acquisition of new electric vehicles and the installation of new charging points at service provider depots are scheduled. This is going to affect the reallocation of vehicles and possibly bus lines compared to the current configuration.
The optimization problem under study will focus on minimizing operating costs associated with “out-of-service" vehicle transfers (i.e. death mileage), either to reach the line starting point or to return to the reference depot.
The solution approach will need to consider various constraints in this scenario, such as the maximum capacity of depots and the type of available refuelling, along with any operational constraints required in the case with no electric vehicles.
