Thesis type NUMERICAL

Description The floating platform plays a crucial role in a floating wind turbine system. The objective of this thesis is to optimize the geometry of the platform using Ansys, a finite element method.
The optimization process involves static analysis using shell elements, encompassing the internal structures. It takes into account factors such as hydrostatic pressure and the loads exerted by the wind turbine, including static wind thrust and the weight of the turbine itself.
To create the geometry, Salome meca is employed, offering the ability to automate the geometry creation process. The coupling of the software is accomplished using MATLAB.
The ultimate aim is to minimize the amount of material required for constructing the platform, thereby achieving a more efficient and cost-effective design.
