Description The fatigue behavior of steels and welds used for the manufacture of automotive mechanical components will be studied by experimental tests. The fatigue tests will be performed both on specimens obtained from the base materials and on welded specimens obtained with different welding methods. The same materials and welds will also be examined by tensile tests and by optical and electronic metallographic analyses. Furthermore, the welds will also be examined by non-destructive tests with liquid penetrant. The thesis will be carried out mainly in the CLN group plant in Via Pavia 72 in Rivoli (TO). The thesis will preferably be associated with a curricular internship carried out at the same company and location.
