Description The possible causes of damage, fracture or failure of automotive components made of metal alloys (mainly steels) will be examined, with particular reference to their production processes. In particular, defects found on components produced by cold drawing, hot stamping, roll forming, shearing, bending and/or welding will be examined. For this purpose tensile and bend tests on the base materials, as well as microhardness tests, optical and electronic metallographic analyses and macroscopic and microscopic (electronic) fractographic analyses on broken or defective components. The thesis will be carried out mainly in the CLN group plant in Via Pavia 72 in Rivoli (TO). The thesis will preferably be associated with a curricular internship carried out at the same company and location.
