Description Near infrared and RGB filters consist of bulky multilayered dielectric films, limiting their application in compact optical devices. With the development of nanofabrication techniques, new kinds of material, called metasurfaces, are a promising solution with significant optical properties and high integration. Metasurfaces can be realized e.g. with plasmonic nano-antennas or high-index all-dielectric nano- resonantors.
The Thesis activity will focus on designing and numerically analyze metasurfaces able to replace traditional near infrared and RGB filters. Transmission, reflectivity and absorption of the realized structures versus wavelength will be evaluated to judge the obtained performance and the possible application capabilities.
