Description Rationale
In intraoperative settings, it is fundamental to be able to quickly and accurately locate and track needles for guiding biopsies. Needle tracking can be done using numerous imaging modalities, such as
ultrasound, but also biomedical optical functional imaging methods, such as optical coherence tomography and photoacoustic imaging.
This thesis will consist in real-time image processing and the integration of open-source tools, such as 3D slicer, for the real-time visualization of the volume and the obtained segmentation.
