Description the work is aimed at the development and simulation of an industrial-scale plant for bio-based acetic acid production. Bio-based products are of great importance in reducing environmental impact by limiting the extraction of fossil fuels. Some bacteria are able to produce acetic acid from carbon dioxide and hydrogen. Electrolysis of water to obtain hydrogen and extraction of CO2 from air by intensified processes will be simulated on Aspen Plus. Bioreactor scale-up will be carried out from a bioreactor present in the department. The environmental impacts of the process will be assessed and the efficient use of feedstock and energy will be maximized.
