Description The main goal of the thesis is the design, modelling and validation of an innovative, safety-critical, internal communication system for airborne vehicle.
Tipically, in airborn systems, the functional replication with comparison is used as main mitigation solution to guarantee the reliability of the computations. This strategy is used on several structural levels, from the main flight computing operations down to the peripheral management. In the thesis, the student will explore several fault mitigation solutions, in terms of physical and logical topology, transmission protocols and other parameters, keeping in mind the strict safety and performance requirements implied by such a system. The design and validation of the proposed solution will be performed through MATLAB and Simulink models.
The thesis has an high research orientation and it is performed in cooperation with an important industrial partner based in Turin.
