Descrizione One of the most significant challenges facing the automotive world is making the entire road vehicle fleets secure. The secret for getting a trusted system that acts both safely and securely is strongly based on the software's integrity and authenticity that it runs on. The mainstream approaches to guarantee those the software cybersecurity properties support the cryptographic data, such as digital signatures on application segment images trusted sources can only generate. These are typically based on cryptographic primitives, such as Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (RSA) or Elliptic-Curve Cryptograph (ECC).
That dare becomes even harder considering the potential of Post-Quantum Era within 10 years that will break the entire security chain.
In this Masterís thesis, the student shall commit a Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) secure boot to be resilient against those kinds of attacks, applying the guidelines US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for the embedded system. This New Generation Secure Boot accomplishment serves to determine not only the secure level but also to understand how the migration to the new design impacts the overall system performances that are critical in the embedded world.
